PRINT STUDIO MENU
(recommended plans of work):
To ensure a good quality print it is important to allow drying time between block-making and printing. Glues and varnishes need time to dry and harden. My experience has been that a series of sessions, each 2 hours in length, is a very productive approach to collograph printmaking. A break between sessions also gives time for an idea to evolve and mature, again ensuring a good final result.

FOR A PERSON WITH NO EXPERIENCE OF PRINTMAKING:
Total of 6 hours.
One 2 hour session, to include a full demonstration of the printmaking process, from block- making and finishing to final printing. We can then work with an idea for a print together and begin print block-making. The simplicity of the technique allows you to work on blocks outside the studio thus making best use of time when returning.
One 2 hour session to refine and finish blocks in preparation for printing.
One 2 hour session to print finished blocks. During this time it is possible to ink and print between 3-5 blocks, 20cm x 20cm image, depending on their complexity.

FOR A PERSON WITH SOME PRINTING/ART EXPERIENCE WANTING TO REFINE OR EXTEND THEIR SKILLS:
Total of 6 hours.
One 2 hour session to discuss and translate an idea into printing blocks. The ease and simplicity of block-making allows you to work on them outside the studio.
One 2 hour session to make first prints and any adjustments to blocks which the initial printing might suggest.
One 2 hour session to complete printing. 2 – 4 blocks depending on complexity.

FOR AN ARTIST REQUIRING ACCESS TO A PRINTING PRESS, BLOCKS READY MADE FOR PRINTING:
Total of 4 hours.
One 2 hour session to familiarise yourself with the studio and plan your method of work.
One 2 hour session to ink and print.
